Artist Trading Block

Trying something new here….  I am now very into altering things.

This is an ATB that I made for a swap at Mini Album Scraps.  The theme was Steampunk.

I used Prima Cartographer paper, embossing powder, lots of Tim Holtz embellishments and several things I have had lying around in my stash for years.

I made the hot air balloon from a small light bulb that I painted then covered in lace.  the bulb is attached to the little basket by Prima wire.  The whole thing is attached to the box by a dowel and pillow fluff is attempting to impersonate clouds 🙂

I made this layout for the Scrap Around the World January challenge.

Here is the beautiful mood board:

SATW jan 15

I was inspired by the old fashioned look of the mood board.  I liked it so much I went to my moms house and dug up some pictures of my grandmother when she was young.

For me, this is a pretty simple layout, but I didn’t want to distract from the 1920’s photos.

I made this mixed media layout for the January challenge at Berry71Blue.  The theme was “Things With Wings”.

I used all sorts of things that had been sitting in my stash; some for years.  I attached them with gel medium, then coated everything with gesso, then Twinkling H2O’s and then Inca gold rub.  I added micro-beads here and there, and some rub ons.

Off The Beaten Path

Here is the layout I made for the 7 Dots Studio Warm and Cozy Challenge.

I used the Nature Walk paper for this layout, using a picture my daughter took of her boots in the fall leaves.  She is in a phase of taking “artsy” selfies 🙂

I love this paper line.  This layout has Winged Vines as the background and several others for the layers.  I made my background with texture paste through a stencil, several mists, and ink splashes. I also used 3 of the Nature Walk tags as layers for the picture mat.

Pretty as a Picture

I made this layout using the Blue Fern Studio November sketch

I used Blue Fern Studios Ombre Dreams – Shannon’s Dream paper and some other scraps from the Ombre Dreams paper line. I painted the background with watercolor pencils and gelattos, This paper is so thick, it doesn’t warp from the water.  I also used the Pretty As A Picture chipboard words.  I painted it with gelattos and Twinkling H2O’s and added some chunky white and gold embossing powder.
