All Grown Up

This is my oldest, where has the time gone???  I made this layout for the May challenge at Once Upon A Sketch.  As usual, my journaling is on the back.  I need to work on getting it on the front 🙂

I used this mood board from Berry71Blue.

I picked the pink roses and the green as inspiration.

I made this layout with pictures my daughter and her friend took of themselves goofing off in the yard.  I used the sketch from Stuck Sketches and the moodboard from

Sassy Scrappers.

Sassy Scrapper May Moodboard Challenge-1

I loved the rainbow colors on the moodboard.  I “made” my background paper by coloring on freezer paper with chalk edgers and then misting with water.  I then pressed a piece of white cardstock onto that and the color transferred to the cardstock.  Pretty cool what you can find on the internet 🙂

The rest of the background is pretty simple, some washi tape and a few strips of torn paper.  For my flower cluster I used the silver and gold starts from the moodboard and also added gold to everything with some gold rub paste.  I found the glasses in my stash and thought they went well with the photo so I added them in also.

I tried something new here while editing my picture.  I changed the color saturation around and came up with different colors of the same photo.

I used Sketch #25 from Scrapfriends

and the color palette #168 from The Color Room

The background was pretty low key (for me!).  Just a tiny bit of gesso, washi tape, watercolor circles and paint splatters.

I painted the chipboard with different paints and coated them with glossy accents.

The Color Room challenge has a “Use this Household Item” prompt, and this month was “Thread”.  This was easy, because I almost always use thread.

Laugh Everyday

I made this layout for the CSI case file #123. This was my first CSI, and it was a lot of fun.  I also used this awesome sketch from Sketchabilities.

I love pictures my daughter and her best friend take of themselves.  They always turn out so silly, just like they are!

The background was a lot of mixed media, it took quite a while to do.  I used gesso, gelatos, watercolor pencils, lots of stamping, drywall tape, texture paste and a stencil, glass bead gel medium and splattered mist.

I used lots of paper layers, and chipboard frames that I colored with inks, paint and heat embossing.
